As I was growing up with Linda, my relationships was an example to my mother. She wanted to sponsor through a non-christian organization, but she decided to sponsor a child through Children International. Her name was Sandra. She lived in Ecuador.
My mother continued to sponsor her until she graduated the program. My mother wasn’t big on letter writing, so she allowed me to write back and forth to Sandra. Although Children’s International did not encourage the kind of relationship with the sponsored kids like Compassion did, I did create a relationship with her. She always signed her letters “your sponsored youngster” even when she was a teenager. I loved mentoring her throughout the years. She was like a much younger sister to me. She was oh so precious!
